One fad back in the day was to move the shift lever to the left side of the column. I think it was mainly done to be different, but it also got the shift lever out of the way of your girl sitting close to you.

I am imagining someone at a car show trying to explain a 3 on the tree, 2 barrel 400, GTO. If it was brown on brown with a bench seat, that would be icing.

I have only seen 1 three on the tree '66 GTO and that was many years ago and I want to say Mike Cooper owned it but cant remember for sure. Jim

1966 was the only year a GTO could come that way. [3 Tree]
389 4bbl = 400 cars built
389 3x2 = 12 cars built

Biggest weirdo/sleeper i can imagine would be 3x2 Mission Beige with Bronze Roof and Bronze Interior.

That would sure get a lot of murmuring going at a local show
Would have fooled me too , up until a couple days ago.
