I started out with 3.55:1 rear with my .64 TKO 600. Switched out to a 3.73 rear gear and I believe it's much better. I've done multiple long distance trips with this car and love it.

With my .64 overdrive and 3.55's out back I can cruise all day long at 65 mph and 1800 rpm, and still climb all the mountain grades around here without downshifting. I don't have to cruise 80 if I don't want to. And that's with the smallest production engine that's likely on this forum, lol. All the swaps I've done and I've never experienced the .64 issue some of you guys are talking about. It sounds like maybe a tuning issue or a combination of engine parts that aren't very happy together. |
