Hammertime Mike and anyone else who read my thread. The internet came through again with an answer, specifically You Tube. Since there weren't a lot of responses to my post I decided to do a search and found a guy from Pennsylvania that tested 4 (that's right FOUR) variations of the #1157 LED bulb, I believe ALL from Sylvania plus an incandescent.
It answered all my questions regarding the bulb and at the same time raised a question as to whether the LED's are worth the extra bucks at all. The differences in light generated is a function of the design of the LED's housing but you can see that for yourself(selves).
Anyway, here's the link. The guy isn't Steven Spielberg and like a lot of amateur videos there are times I think he takes too long to get to the point but the bottom line is he eventually provides all the info I need to make an informed decision, so for that I thank him. Here's the link. You all have a good one. trshman
