Great job to KRE for making 1000 hp. I think to critize the effort is senseless. Especially if you are living by the expectation that they are not great at head porting or engine development.( not my feelings, as I have no personal experience with them.) But, if that's the way another person sees their ability then that would make it even more impressive that KRE was able to get 1000 out of it. Then what would the best of the best ( read as BES, Marcella, etc ) be able to do? 1200-?? More?? Who knows. I didn't see a lot of details on the build. Just ported Super Wedge heads, 15 to 1 compression. So I wouldn't class this build as max effort anyway. Just an average build with good heads.

I just came back from KRE (dropping off my 13 year old MR1 block) and they said heads were just mildly ported, kinda just basically a bracket engine! Horses mouth!

I am out of the loop now. Why would someone build a 15:1 cr engine for basically a bracket engine?

Racers still like to go fast bracket racing! Faster car better (it’s fun to chase down your opponent) in my opinion, that one reason why I supercharger on my engine, lots of power low rpm less breakage.

I agree, but some racers feel 91 Octane is all that is needed for bracket racing.

So one can try to make big power and then when they fail one can fall back and say "I wasn't trying, it's a bracket motor".

Kinda like using Q-16 and saying you're not going for big power.

Bracket motor.....my words. I talk to 3 people there at different times, got the same answer basically all 3 times, sorry if you think all 3 are lying just because you don’t like the answer.

Why not? I had a 14 to 1 street engine at one point. Not intentionally but that's the way it all came out. I never said it was a bracket engine. Just not max effort. If setting it for max effort on NA I would think 17 or 18 to 1.
