My favorite line so far: "If you dont have ammo, you are collecting and hoarding things for people who do!"

Coworker just came in and said Indiana closing bars and restaurants. Said going to get supply of beer on lunch break. Think I will too. When will the madness end?...

Yes I heard that Fed Ex and UPS is going to 3 day delivery and changing the amounts of shifts the warehouses are running to keep masses of warehouse workers and packers to have space in the work place.

A woman who works at the local Amazon fulfillment center was on the radio this morning. She said they are busier now than how they normally are during the Christmas season, and since they don't have the additional temporary workers like they do during the holidays it's made even worse. So, it makes sense that delivery times may suffer.

My son works at a rail yard moving shipping containers from incoming to outgoing.
Incoming been less then normal past week. Working bout 8-10 hours vs 11-12 hours per shift. Has option to sit and receive pay or clock out early. He doesn't care feeding the blood sucking(his words) Teamsters so leaves.

I was at an Advance Auto parts store about an hour ago and was talking with the regional commercial sales manager. She told me that on average sales are cut in half over what would be normal.

I was in QT at lunch...2 other people and me...food on the roller was burning etc and they where throwing it away...they where cleaning everything..it was strange that the place was almost empty..no lines for gas etc...
from 11:30ish til 1 ish you usually have to wait in lines 5 or 6 deep and 4 or 5 wide etc..its a super busy location..forget getting gas..it isnt going to happen at lunch time...its usually a mad house inside and out... i left there...went to get some groceries, and tried to stock up a little...it was empty too...only thing sold out was produce...no potato's or tomatoes or onions at all...bananas where just about gone..i got 2 bunches.. TP..hand sanitizer and for some reason rubber gloves for cleaning..totally empty shelves...meat section was low..but still a good selection..

This is getting silly. Our President advised us today not to go to restaurants for at least 15 days. I know that a lot of small restaurants operate week to week. A couple of slow weeks could close them for good. Two weeks of being closed and they are doomed for sure. Plus all of the employees. Most have already had their hours cut. And you know they live week to week. Think about the ripple effect.
If we all use our common sense; don't go out if we are sick, wash our hands often, and keep our distances from others, especially those who look like they may be sick, we'll get through this fine. The media is jumping on every little tidbit they can find and twist it to get the most sensational headlines.

Here in NY state, Restaurant's, Bars, Casinos, Entertainment Centers and many others are being forced to close at 8 pm tonight for an unknown length of time. Restaurants will be able to have take out and delivery. This is going to cost financial hardships that many will never recover from.

Jerry, I wish it were that simple. Besides the air-borne transmission hazard, this virus can live for hours on some surfaces.
The fact that people are carriers of the virus, feel fine for days and unknowingly spread it, are complicating matters. I think about how many opportunities there are in an "average" day to be exposed. On your way to wherever you stop for gas. Paying at the pump you punch the key pad with your finger tips, push your gas choice then grab the hose handle. Maybe you need to use the windshield cleaning sponge-on-stick before you leave. Then you pull the outside and inside door handles, grab the steering wheel and put it in gear. Whatever you touched is riding with you now. If you go inside and pay cash, the glove wearing clerk will take your money hand you back any dirty change that you might be due. Many restrooms are paper towel free and force you to dry your hands with forced air, before you grab the handle on the exit door that only swings inward. Use the bank drive through to avoid others and you have to use the plastic vacuum tube carrier that 75 others held twice that day. If you eat at a restaurant that uses hand held menus, I doubt they are sanitized at any time, just stuffed back in a rack. A delivery shows up at your workplace that you need to sign for. You're handed the electronic devise that 500 other people held this week so that you can sign your name. You turn the corner at a store isle and walk through the coughed up mist left behind by someone 15 seconds earlier. You're now on the medicine isle, where sick people shop. You pick up that bottle of cough syrup to buy that another sick person read the label on that day and put back. I really believe that this will be much more serious and far reaching than most people are expecting. But I would rather be wrong and considered a fool. |

Went to the store and no TP. No water. No rice. But lots of this stuff. Now, I only have an occasional beer typically. Don't buy it for home. But when I saw the gleaming bottles, lots of it..... it was like a revelation. I had to support the beer all are afraid of. Also, I decided if I drink Corona "Light", I will only get it the virus "lightly" at worst. Yup.

It prefers steel and plastic.
It also lives for about a full day on cardboard which most of our goods are delivered in at your door. Some people are still taking this lightly. I’m a senior and this is no joke! Get Serious People!! |

We have tested 26,000 to date and S Korea is up to 10,000 tests a day. Until we achieve testing levels here, USA statistics are kind of meaningless. This is a new challenge for America and my fear is that our freewheeling society does not take this seriously enough. I have given up eating out, fun shopping, having friends over, until I see what the spread becomes here in Montana. I said yesterday, this is like the old western, where the townspeople know the bad guys are coming and they are just waiting. Difference with this is they are here, we just can't test to quantify.
