Code 1 in 1966 could have been any of these colors.
As far as just looking at Code 1 on a Billing History Card at PHS Headquarters.
66 and 67 Tiger Gold fell under the Code 1 umbrella.



In 1965 - Tiger Gold was Code 2, by itself.
Or it's been said it was by itself , as Code 2 anyway.

Car looks nice in the pics. Would be nice to know original color but that would just be for general knowledge as it would cost a fortune to return it to that color. Auction ended with only 2 bidders and at 30K. That seems a little light considering the condition and rarity of the car. Would be interesting to know what the seller had for the reserve. If he was hoping for 60K+, he will be waiting a while. Without seeing any pictures of the trunk interior or any underneath pics, I would think top $ would be high 30's. Some things unknown: How butchered the trunk interior is from the air suspension abomination. How nice the floors and frame are. Someone with a 92 Caprice might want the DUB wheels and air suspension, that would recover a grand or two. Looks like a nice straight body and an original interior and lots of options.

Yes. It was painted Mandalay Red and Cameo Ivory, which were 1959 colors. The standard red color in 1961 was Coronado Red, which was more maroon. The color names printed on the manifest I got from PHS, the color code on the firewall trim tag is 'Special'.

1965 and Newer PHS docs don't have that provision/ability to list special color names or formula numbers.
Notice that the 65 and 66 Tiger Gold documents that Chris and I posted make no mention of a color or formula number for their special paint.

1964's could, but i think that was the last potential form that listed out any build memos.

Hidden Factory Build Sheets will usually spell out a special color.
But sometimes even they don't list it out.

Most cars with special paint (musclecar sector) PHS just hand writes it was an unknown special color paint.

The seller of this 67 2+2 stated in the ad they had the Build Sheet , but a lot of people confuse the PHS Document as a Build Sheet.
A real actual hidden Build Sheet would have a good chance of spelling out the original color / formula number used.
