I don't think I have seen this picture before. bill never mentioned this car to me. what was it running?

I have no clue. Never seen it before either. Even if it was a Canadian Pontiac it would have been a SBC. Unless he changed it. I'd like to know what class it ran in.

An Acadian. Looks like U/SS on the window. Apparently had a 427 in it.

The AHRA (not NHRA) ran a class for lightweights that was called Ultra Stock.
It fell between full-on gassers and stockers. Now let's look at JeffHamlin's pic
again. U/S, and the Acadian also has a straight axle under it.

Is it a "U" or a bad looking "V"?

There is nothing in the 1967 rule book for either class but those classes do show up in the 1973 book, so this is a later photo. "U" class is 18.00 to 18.99 and "V" class is 19.00 to 19.99. Both seem very slow which tells me that this car may be a 6 cylinder. Both classes are also automatic.

Side note.... Bad Banana, the car in the far lane, was a local car for me.

So then why was the class so slow? Surely a 427 can do better in the 1/4. Also, Super Stock had to use the factory block. Did a '66 Canadian Pontiac have a 427? Was there even a 427 in 1966?
