My little 4.0 Jeep Cherokee engine, bored & stroked to 4.7. I’ve been working on it since last fall, and it’s ready to go in my 1985 CJ-7. It should make more that twice the power of the 258 inline six that’s in my Jeep currently. With MPFI it should be better on gas too, so I’m looking forward to swapping engines soon.

Is that a Pontiac engine color?

That is AMC blue. My 1985 CJ-7 has a 258 inline six that is black. I guess AMC quit painting engines blue in the early eighties. The 4.0 engines were black too. I like the AMC blue, almost as much as I like the Pontiac blue for 1969.

This is my 258 that will be replaced soon.
