I don’t really care about numbers- I prefer ‘correct looking’.
As far as resto mods I see two categories. Full on resto-mod: aftermarket suspension/chassis, EFI, modern AC, modern interior, modern music. These cars are extremely expensive to build and the sell price usually reflects it.
Then there are cars with 17” wheels and vintage air people refer to as a resto mod. It doesn’t detract as much if the wheels are factory style (17” Rallye II’s) but if you throw on a set of chrome 17”s or 18”s I can see it hurting the value.
To be clear- I don’t have a problem with big wheels and vintage air- I have done that to several of my cars and love the look.
