I dont want to go that road,IF I loose my mind and decide to do this it will be 65 up water pattern. If someone wants to run it on early heads they would need to remove the water Xover and use a early one along with getting the port work to match the ports.I will have the intake made with RA IV size ports and location with enough material to make bigger.Tom

Well, that would certainly work for me as I have not really worked with the early heads anyway. Are you thinking sand casting or some sort of 3D printed finished product? Or have you not moved to that point yet?

Tom
What would be the best late model heads for my 62 GP 421 if no 127 heads are used. What heads did you use. Thanks for all the info.

If your shortblock is already built , you might need to consider cam lift and which type/size of valve reliefs your pistons have.
You could run big valve heads up to a certain point of valve lift with small valve reliefs in the 421 style pistons.

Tom is saying he used big valve heads 1971 #96 , with 96cc chambers (if stock).
If he did a full fresh build -- he probably used new pistons with proper larger valve relief size.

John knows how many of our were made and sold.I think the first Johnson Zayjax was a small run like less than 30,Randy Williams made a few diff styles but they only actually got out to friends.I tested 3 of his early on and there was only about 5 HP diff. The mule for this deal was a Williams intake.Tom
