There is supposedly one in the Rochester, NY area. I've never seen it but heard about it from a few people. Super rare car. |

I had asked about the Shaker hood scoop on a on a 79 Formula hood when I ordered mine, and the dealer owner just laughed at me. He said no it had not and would not happen. Never said a thing about the 58 that were built.
Yeah I know, you can't believe what a dealer will tell you when you order a new car. I found this one on the internet, but I really think it looks like an addon. Looks like crap to me and glad I could never get it on my 79 Formula.

Back in the 70's, my Pontiac dealer told me that all '65 GTO's came standard with Tri-Power.

That picture is something an owner did to the Formula hood. I almost did the same thing to my 72 Firebird that I put a Formula hood on myself in the late 70's. I picked up a complete shaker assm. from a 76 TA, and had the pattern all taped out on the Formula hood so I could cut the hole. I just couldn't do it, and so glad I didn't ! I still have the shaker assm. in storage from all those years ago ...lol I saw a beautiful white 73 SD-455 Formula two summers ago in NJ. I think the guy was from Freehold. |
