The deck we have now is not wood, it’s more of a hard plastic not sure of the correct term, maybe composite? But it needs new railings and the old shed we keep the rototiller and garden stuff in is ready to crash.

Yes I think that’s what it’s called. It has some kind of textured paint on it, it’s a little rough on the bare feet but not painful rough.

I used Azek brand decking for our house here. It's solid PVC. Only downside is that it gets pretty warm on the feet if the sun has been on it.
