Is PY pre Facebook?
My buddy and I were talking about the random kindnesses of places like this and I got to thinking. Does PY pre date Facebook? This place has to be close to 20 years old. Crazy how time flies.

I was on PY around 2003, and singed up a bit later. Oddly, Steve Ames told me about it.

Been around since the late 1990s I believe. I remember the discussions about the differences between here and Classical Pontiac in around 1998-1999...

I checked on www.archive.org , they have a capture of the PY site from 1997 that has links to the old PY message board. The earliest posts i found in the cars for sale / cars wanted section were from December 20, 1996. https://web.archive.org/web/19970403...com/ponbbs.htm

I have my suspicions about them (alien time travelers) |

I began perusing the old PY board around 1996 and began posting around 1998, so yea...PY predates a lot of things on the internet.

Didn't an earlier version of this forum crash?
I am pretty sure I signed up before my currently displayed join date - but this date is actually the second time I signed up. I was on the Classical Pontiac message board and heard of this site from that one.

I think there have been a couple big crashes over time. i'm not sure if the join dates changed, but there was once or twice when everyone lost a bunch out of their post count.

Been on the PY board since the inception. Sold tons of stuff here, and bought stuff here, but sold a lot more and found a lot more stuff on facebook.

Baron: first used microwave ovens (were "Radar Ranges" ), in 1967. To predate would need to be a magazine.
