I'm excited to go back to the hot air choke. My electric choke takes too long to open, and the hot air choke is just a much simpler system. Sadly, the tube sets for the late 70's 400's are worth their weight in gold and Inline Tube absolutely refuses to repro them. ��

have you tried adjusting the choke? if its in good working order, adjusting the dial & playing with the fast idle screw will change the time it takes to open, on both types of chokes.
i have the hot air on a 78 & converted to electric on a car with E-heads that dont have the heat crossover... both work good but i prefer the electric over the hot air.
