Meaning that most new builds come in lighter than 2900lbs...Carbon fiber, and Titanium is much more common these days...Since mine will see street duty, i've tried to limit the lightweight materials in key areas...

Most chassis cars for decades weigh between 2,500- 2,750 normally. My buddy’s Vega with a CM chassis comes in at about 2,300 lbs. with carbon fiber and titanium nowadays they come in even lighter!

You seem to feel that you are an expert on this subject George, so you can tell it however you want...But, there are some facts that you cant escape.

The "most" chassis cars that you are talking about, are purpose built to RACE ONLY...Everything is built around the idea that it doesnt have to drive long...My car will have a working heat/ac system, radio, steel doors and fenders, thicker windows, a large capacity cooling system, and an on-board transmission cooling system...

If I can keep it under 2900lbs with an iron IA2 block, and my fat ass, i'm going to be very very happy...Sorry if you cant agree with that.

Thanks Mike...Its almost to the point where the pics will start doing it justice...I have spent so much time making the nose, hood, and rear window...It just about whipped my butt...

Its going to be worth it when its done though...It'll be a one-off car, and should run decent too.
