We are shipping a 40FT container because we have some of our house hold goods and personal effects going as well. I don't think NZ is as strict on asbestos - but anything's possible. I know we are going to have some hurdles with getting the T/A certified in NZ as they are very strict on rust and prior repair work. We may even end up having to strip the car to get the prior work inspected. Basically we are hoping for the best, but prepared for the worst - even a full restore if needed.

I've owned the TA 20+ years - I couldn't bring myself to sell it.

It's not that repairs are not allowed - it's just that they need to be of good quality. NZ went through a period of time where cars were being imported that were cut and spliced or just poorly repaired. These were ending up on NZ roads and then disentegrating in accidents.

We knew what we would be facing so none of this is a suprise.

Yep - it's not the prettiest at the moment. They are telling me that it will be painted and ready to go by the end of April. Seems a bit optimistic, but what do I know?

This is utilizing the repro 75-81 full quarters combined with the sail panel section from the quarters that were on the car to make a 74 full quarter (which are not currently reproduced).

Boy those panels were scary, definitely a safety concern . Man I’d be giving the American one finger salute to people. This is total BS . Sorry but I can’t stand stupid stuff like this there was nothing about that car that wasn’t safe . Barely considered hacked maybe but not unsafe .

Beautiful car and compelling story.

I just bought a '74 T/A (white) from USA and I'm finally about to get it certified for the roads in Canada.

Hopefully doesn't turn out as crazy as NZ - jinkies!

She is totally worth it though...you must get some crazy looks driving down that road lol
