I had a '66 back in the early '70s as a toy. While working at the dealer I bought every piece of trim, quarters, wheel housings, fenders etc. and stored all the parts in my spare bedroom before I got married. Sold the GTO in 1980 and the wife wears it on her finger.

I prefer the 67 grill, taillights, rocker trim and seat vinyl pattern over the 66, but hey I'm partial to a 67. The 66 is nice but I think the 67 model looks more refined.
