Mikes Reply:
My boss picked up a red on red one while I was learning the carpet trade and it sat in front of his house after that. Automatic with a 350 motor and had a perfect interior. The problem is he never finished it and I don't know what he did with it either? |

The 1976 455 TA
Last of the 455's. Per an earlier post of mine, if you got a '76 455 4sp with the Limited Edition option, you got a rare one. Only 110 built. My Bro had one in Firethorn Red, I had my Bandit at the same time, and we thought we were a couple of Bad Asses back in the late '70's. Was at the local Monday car show yesterday (Fun Time Cruzers in MI), a guy had one there, and he lamented that is was "only 200HP". I said - yeah, but do you know how much torque it has? Had no clue. 330 Ft-Lb @ only 2000 RPM! Not bad for stock. Case in point, Horsepower is for braggin, Torque is what you feel on the street. In General: "The reason that large displacement engines are so popular with performance enthusiasts is that as displacement increases, so does the ability for the engine to make more torque at lower engine speeds. Which is why hot rodders love big engines." https://www.streetmusclemag.com/tech...vs-horsepower/ |

The 1970 Knafel "Magnum 400" Pontiac Tempest
Only 50 built. Never knew there was such a car until I saw it in my Pontiac Mag Aug 1982. Wonder if any are still out there? Maybe more on this car covered somewhere in the 70-72 GTO Tempest & LeMans TECH forum. https://www.hemmings.com/stories/art...est-magnum-400 https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?t=75580 |
