Instead of making a new thread, I'm going to give this thread a fourteen year(!!) bump!

I just recently came to possess two more glove box doors, and think that this thread could use an update;
I searched high and low, and could find no other thread that tabulated information for the correct tire decals (or otherwise) for the glove box doors.

I think clarifying what years had what glove box decals would be a good thing, and unless my searches were flawed (I used our built in search engine; narrowed to this sub-foum) - I could find nothing...
I do recall seeing a partially photo shopped image of a tire decal here somewhere... but I sure cannot find it.

First;
Does anyone know when, or if, the tire decal was eliminated?
I have a spare glove box door that I bought ages ago (probably nearly a decade before I started this thread), and it does not appear to have ever had a tire decal on it.
If I had to guess, I'd wager it was from a 1979 Firebird, as that was by a long shot the most common year of Firebird that I pulled parts from.

So, I scuffed up my original glove box door some time after tearing my car apart;
I actually was able to source another correct (one year) glove box, and it has about 70% of the tire inflation decal - so that's nice... except it's a KM decal - not a KN like my original.

As to the two doors I just received:

One is a 1974 - as is clearly indicated by the presence of an "RTS" badge.
This one has only a "How to select proper gasoline" decal on it (#339203) - it looks as though it may have had a tire decal on the right side, but nothing is there now.

The other one I received is by my estimation a 1972 base/Esprit door.
This one has a KM rev. 4 decal - it also has a "vehicle safety maintenance schedule" (#3991751)

Now, my guess was that tire decals were eliminated somewhere after 1975, but Ames has them listed through to 1977;

1971 base/Esprit - KM - 482400; 1970 decal used on early cars, later cars had decals with part number and "REV. 1"

Curiously the Ames listing for the 'KM' decal (#FX107J; shown as 1972 Except TA) shows the correct letter code for the application, and the same rev number as the original I have here, but it has the wrong part number!?

I also noticed that the Ames catalog has the fuel decal as listed for 1972-1974, but I think this is in error;
The 'Vehicle safety maintenance' decal (which is on my assumed 1972 door) does not allow any room for the fuel decal;
I would guess that based on Giles post (post #2) that the maintenance decal arrived in 1971, and was discontinued when ever the fuel decal started to be used.
I could be mistaken, but I thought the 1973 Formula I had also had the maintenance schedule.
Maybe the maintenance decal was 1971-1973, and the fuel decal was 1974-1977 ??
The maintenance decal may lend an explanation why the shape of the (metal inside face) glove box door changed for 1971 - the 1970 doors lacked the large flat required for this decal.
I do seem to recall seeing the fuel decal more often than not.

Can anyone help me fill in the blanks for anyone looking to get a correct glove box door decals for their car?
