Yeah, "let's cut the roof off", that's what folks want..." Thankfully, such conversions on the very late 70's -81 Firebird was a flash in the pan deal. Would agree, absolutely hideous appearance wise with the fabric roof up, not that great with it down. 2nd Gens had poor enough body structure rigidity with t-tops...

At least one '80 or 81 Esprit convert ended up in the Nichols Hills area of N OKC. Remember seeing it around, then ck'ing it out in a showcased area as a used car on N May in front of the Buick dealership. Grand Nationals were out, but not yet the intercooled ones. Fun times for a few years picking on the 5.0's & GN's, then all the performance modded GN's & Fox bodies happened.

Disagree. I used to own a 80 Trans AM maroon hardtop in 1983 with a red interior. The same car as a convertible is drop dead sexy. Agree the top up is ugly... so don't drive it when you need the top up. This car is on my list to own someday.

Looks like high speed backwards into a tree or a very strong pole. Don't see marks like another vehicle hit it.

I bet that driveshaft being driven into the transmission like that didn’t do the transmission any favors either.

^^^^^^ Nice 74...but I thought you meant it was selling for 21k (miles), instead of $49,900. That would have been nice, but suprising.
