I received my battery a few days ago and I also was discouraged by the + battery post. Here's how I made the fix. I took a aluminum ski pole inside diameter of 11/16"and cut a 9/16" piece off and de-burred the inside edges. Next I prepped the post by using battery post tool and emery cloth. Next I used soldering paste and coated the aluminum sleeve and battery post. I then placed the sleeve on the post and used my soldering iron to lay a small amount of silver solder on the top. I then used my Bernzomatic torch and heated the top slowly till the solder sucked down inside the sleeve. I immediately poured cool water over to cool it quickly. I then removed the sleeve and it looks perfect. Installed it in my GTO and fired it up.
