Car was not at same level as Como car. Header on top of windshield where top seals was ripped all the way across. I believe the money the Como car brought is somewhat an anomaly. This second car only got half way there. There was not $500k difference..

Especially on IV cars.. Usually about neck and neck , but this time OO went nuclear. Bionic Nuclear on the OO Convertible. Going in behind it helped the Blue car considerably . Whoever owns the Wilde Blue Yonder now will most likely afford whatever it needs to tighten it up. It is my second favorite color combo of the group behind the Black-Sandal Auto. There were enough shooters with enough money determined to take the OO to support its number They wanted THAT ONE.

(Mark) MCronk and I have the conversation often about the cars with reserve. Just because it bid up to 190k doesn't mean there was anyone willing to pay that or bid that high. If the seller had a 200K reserve, they can just run it up to that amount without a bidder. Certainly a car worthy of a unusually high bid for a 76 but 200K?

The 76 TA 455 4spd is a 997 out of 1000 point multi award winner at some big events.
No doubt it is extra super nice And some folks stayed late to gun for it. ,,,,,, but .,.. no sale @ 190k holy raviolli |

Yes we even know first hand about some of the tactics and smoke at these events regarding some reserves and the real money stopping a ways back.
But even the fact it is set that high is mind boggling And a time slot that late. weird |

Do you think Mecum would guarantee an amount to for a signature car like the OO RAIV Judge convertible? It’s good publicity and the the owner had $2M worth of cars in the auction so maybe they throw him a bone. It’s funny how the announcers predicted $1M for the car in advance and that’s what it hit.

All of these last 3 were Bought Well on Sunday !
The 70 GTO VOE / Tiger Button car - I couldn't see any red flags. Most VOE cars that pop are mostly YS Automatics. The 72 TA might not have had the right type of engine. The 70 Judge - if it was factory Blk/Blk that was a give away price. Maybe someone knows the stories on these cars today ? |

Did you join Mecum online? I am a Mecum member and have no issues seeing any of the lots or their prices/bids. If you do not create an account you cannot see the prices. It is free to join.

Best explanation of why auction prices are what they are!
And it was an auction full of people who WANTED to spend money. Not a website full of guys who HATE to spend money. From what I understand the block casting for a RA II car should be 9792506 either full casting for early cars or ground and stamped 2506 for later cars, yes? I searched for a correct block code/date code block for my car and found a few. Some had the full 9792506 casting number (usually with a C118 date code). Others had the last 4 digits ground off and stamped 2506. See pics of blocks. Would or could there be any other casting code for a RA II block? |

Seems that has been covered in good detail on here, but can't remember if in a Roll Call thread or somewhere else. Try to send a PM to TheBoss on here, he has handled a lot of that hardware and used to have all that stuff down patent. I don't think he comes on here very much anymore. Try PM and an email via PY server. If all else fails I could light a fire and send him some smoke signals.
