FYI:
Looks like all the Accel Dual Point Distributors use the same Cap & Rotor- Pontiac, Chevy, Mopar & Ford. Same with the Rotor. And you don't need to buy Accel specifically, Any brand works- 1953-1957 GM V8 application. So you can even tell the Auto Parts Guy you want a Distributor Cap & Rotor for your 1955 Pontiac with the Strato-Streak V8. It does appear that the Accel offering is still a quality Made in USA part too- with Brass Contacts.

Yep, that's what I was trying to convey but I guess didn't come across well enough.
Accel didn't reinvent the wheel, they just use the same caps and rotors that were already in production. The later small HEI version of that distributor that Accel made in the 80's is the same way, I have one of those here I ran for a while. Has the HEI module bolted to the outside of the housing, and uses the same small Ford snap on cap and push on rotor button. It's actually a nice little HEI distributor if you like small and compact. I can get the brass contact Ford snap on caps from Napa right up the street here. |
