Thanks Greg I will let him know the build date. The car had only around 40K on it when it was races. Jeff still has the RAIIII heads that was on it when he bought it. The engine in it now was done by an engine builder in Florida. Using a 389 block it was stroked to just under 500 Cubic inches and was putting out a bit over 500 HP. Very impressive engine. Is there any other information on those tags? I know color interior color build date and place of origin . Just wondering if it tells anything else.
Thanks Don |

Lots of info on the tag, maybe not real useful sometimes?
24237 is for the division series in this case a GTO. If it had say 23327 and someone said it was a GTO, it would be wrong. But only according to the cowl tag. That's why PHS for Pontiacs is such a great thing. The number after the BAL (Baltimore plant) 557747 is the body number. But this also can mean different things at different plants. To the right of the date code - 1 A is a B, which not sure what that means for Baltimore plant. The numbers after the 'B' - 095669 is probably a code for the Baltimore plant, possibly a unit count of where it was on the line and a date code? These aren't really known for sure. Also they differ a lot from plant to plant. (some have them some don't)
