Wow that's a really light turnout, and odd people wont associate?? Is that generally an unfriendly town? I don't know if I could get excited enough to bother attending if only a handful of people.

I'm familiar with Deadwood nights, a popular tourist attraction spot that brings in people from all over. Great for a car event. It's something I'd like to do sometime if for nothing else but to take in the sights. Unfortunately a once a year event.

It really does sound like an area thing.
You mention you used to do cruises with groups and clubs. That's still done here very frequently. But we are in the proximity of many car related things like Route 66, Barrett Jackson and several other car auctions, Goodguys comes here twice a year, there are more car building hot rod shops than I can count in Arizona. We do a Route 66 cruise twice a year that goes as far as you care to drive. They usually go to the end in California, I've went as far as Oatman. Good times. Different clubs get together at least a couple times a month to drive the twisty mountain roads around here. Most of this is also weather related, as Arizona is pretty much year round driving weather and very rich in the car culture.

Just as an example, here's a typical Arizona cruise at the Pavilions. Happens every Saturday night all year. I attend this one usually once a month or when I have time. 220 mile round trip for me but worth it. On a busy night like auction weekends or Goodguys several hundred cars are not unusual. On a casual Saturday night 200 cars isn't unheard of. This is while there are about at least 15 or 20 other cruises around the Phoenix area going on every Saturday night at the same time. Take your pick. 4 million people live in and around the Phoenix metro area so you can imagine.... I enjoy the cars and the people. Of course you have clicks about anywhere you go, and this cruise has it's fair share. I'm there to enjoy myself with friends and family. I will say 99% of the people there are more than friendly and easy to talk to.
