A body Sprint(except 4 dr in 67) got them 66-69 67-8 F body did offer optional Rally stripes for all but the 350 HO. 350 HO got the HO stripes(which could also be deleted) no 400s came with HO stripes,or Ram Air stripes as Ive seen some do.

Cammer-6, Thanks for schooling me on the Rally stripes availability...confusing to say the least.

So, with stripe...without stripe...I'm torn.

To me it resembles a side guard rub strip, a bit wide but it still looks like one.
Ultimately it’s your car and the opinions of others shouldn’t have much bearing if any regarding what you do with it.

Wife says "no stripe". Doesnt work on the shape of the 4-door sedan style. I'm going to have to agree with her. There was a 69 LeMans Sprint convertible in my past, so I'm partial to the stripe.

No stripes or protective body side moldings.
![]() It seems like maybe you want to give the car some extra identity to help bring out the hidden 350 H.O. status. I'd probably get some small 350 H.O. decals made that resemble the 455 H.O. decals , and put one on each side of the center hump of the hood towards the front. The wheel / hubcap combo isn't really working well with the flow.. Silver wheels and dogs , or full size hubcaps , or R2 wheels w/o rings , imho |

As for the stripes, most folks say yuck, I'm still undecided. I like this white '68 with the red H.O. style stripe. Dennis |

68-9 is narrower,like the 67-8 F body Rally stripes, or 67-8 HO

Those RIIs and redlines make the car look great! The red goes good with silver.

That time of year already where the Pontiacs are all tucked away for the long winter hibernation. The Custom S was a whirlwind project that we were glad to git-er-done for the most part. We still need to get some new window fuzzies made and installed...next year, and work on the tune (carb & distributor). I'd love to take to the May F.A.S.T. race at Martin, MI...but may not be ready to do that. Thanks for sharing the ride this year.
Special thanks go out to post toastie for starting the thread and the ensuing adventure. Dennis |
