Flywheel or flexplate?
Generally the outer diameter of the flywheel/flexplate are the same for most all years. (not up on the very early 60's or 50's though) The teeth count is 166 i believe. I would think the starter is not correct for a Pontiac if it doesn't engage?

Its a flywheel, like i said in my post and the starter is correct for a pontiac. Its brand new from summit, the part # is correct for a pontiac and it works on my spare block so i know its something with the flywheel. I was just hoping for some information on some kind of part # or stamping in the flywheel itself to help me identify what it is
