I think your right on that, I was thinking the blue gaskets don’t crush quite as far as the 1016s, but the blue I think do crush to less than .045”, hard to measure also. The 1016s crush to .039. I have both here, if I remember I will double check.

Just wanted to mention what felpro states the compressed thickness is for their pontiac head gaskets, edelbrocks are also .039. Thats the spec i used when calculating compression for my recent stroker build.
