It’s a dodge D500 -1 (dual quad) lancer
Arnie says it was his favorite race car ever . They were VERY rare . My dad had one in convertible supposedly only 8 ever made.

This one is my dad’s w my mom driving it. They graduated in 55 and bout this car the year after new. The dealer told him how special it was and to Never ever sell this car.
He had his uncles garage change the oil and the guy working there’s wife had a baby, he tried to take this car w no oil in it and clocked the engine. It was so rare they couldn’t get the sale engine for it . My dad still misses this car today. He won TONS of races w this car as did Arnie. In fact my dad’s two best friends became die hard mopar guys because of this car. One owned memory motors which was well known for high powered mopars , many 426 hemi drag cars owned after.

They used to say that at 60 mph you’d step on it and it woukd burn the tires for as long as you held your foot in it. They were used mainly in Daytona 500 roundy round racing. So they had to sell so many to be legal. . But they were factory race cars.

That is at Gateway. Keith Potter's car sponsored by Craig Weiss. Big Block Chevy powered. Big roots blower, injector hat (i believe), Lenco trans, tube chassis. Was very fast back in the day. Keith was a STL area mechanic. I think he might have worked at Matt Johnson's shop?

I would like to be! Thanks for a great picture!

What is the small car across the street in front of the store? Is it a Fiat Topolino?
