Around 2003 my '67 Firebird was running 11.6's with mechanical fan & water pump.
I changed to a Flex-a-Lite BlackMagic shrouded 3.300cfm fan and a CSR electric water pump. I didn't dyno it, but my e.t. improved close to a tenth and about a full MPH gain as well.
Highway speeds it would get to a bit over 190. But in traffic or low speed driving the temp would drop to 160 (thermostat temp).
On my old Falcon street/strip wagon, and also on a '68 Firebird I'm finishing up for a friend, I've used the DC Control 65p35 PWM controller, which varies the speed of the water pump and fan(s) to keep the motor at a more consistent temperature. http://www.dccontrol.com/constant_te...ontrollers.htm
