1970 Quadrajet 7040270
I am putting this out there in case someone is in the position of being open to trade... I figure there is no harm in asking.
I am wondering if by chance someone out there has a 1970 RAIII/auto 7040270 Quadrajet that they might be interested in doing a trade on. I recently re-acquired the 1970 YZ engine my car came with when I bought it and would really like to have this engine complete & correct; I have replaced the '2009 distributor it originally had (I did a trade plus cash for a non-RA distributor years ago, this replacement has a date code only a couple days off iirc). Right now the engine is topped off with a service replacement 1969 RAIII/auto (7029270) Quadrajet that I am thinking might be a great candidate for a trade against a 7040270. Incase a 7029270 isn't of any real interest, I also have a service replacement 1968 RA/auto (7028276) Quadrajet. I would not expect an OE carb, but figure that a SR carb should be a fair trade. Yup, I know that this is a long shot, so I will hold off on any more details unless I receive a PM from an interested party. Thank you very much for looking! FYI: I am aware that all three of these application numbers, as service replacements were the common SR unit for manual transmission cars of the applicable model year - I have chosen to list them as "auto" because that was what the original application was for.

I think it's been long enough to bump it ;)
Is anyone possibly interested in trading their 7040270 for a 7029270?
To recap/clarify, I was wondering if someone here might be interested in a trade of sorts where both parties might end up with a correct application number carb for their project; I have a SR 7029270 and I'd like to get a 7040270 as the crowning jewel for my otherwise complete* 70 'YZ engine that I re-acquired last year. (* = right now it's complete less carb and starter) I will entertain any reasonable offers. I do not want anyone to think I'm playing any games, so I am more than happy to share any pictures ect that might be required. You can send me a private message or an email through the link on my profile page. Thanks for looking! |

WTT: SR 7029270 for SR 7040270
I figured that it is worth giving this a bump.

my deal is that I don't have a big budget, and although I'd love to have a '0270 carb to top off my '70 YZ engine, it's a back-burner deal.
For a period the '69 RA carbs were the hot ticket, but for a couple years now, the '70 carbs are typically selling, or listed for more than the '69 units. Ideally I'd find someone who has a '69 RA car, and is running a '70 carb to trade straight across.

I'm giving this a bump.
I am adding pictures of the 7029270 I am offering to trade against a 7040270; If you are wondering why the airhorn is a different colour, it's because I put the correct casting number airhorn on there (typically the more common one with POE is present). Don't mind my fingers in the first picture - I didn't realize that happened till just now!
