Did some more looking and the seat covers and door panels are both repop replacements.
Not actual comfort weave.
More like niblet nubs , not actual weaving.
I can zoom in on this picture with my tablet.

And a good shot showing how the 70-71 upper grille mount bosses don't align with the 73 bumper brace mounting holes.

Agree with you on the cobbled up disaster of the sectioned early grilles in the '73 endura nose.

On the DLX seats, I've had two complete sets of 100% original '70 Firebird BLACK DLX seats that the "comfortweaave" material was embossed just like in the pic. Kept partial covers from that first BLACK DLX set, pulled from a 70 Formula partscar in the early 90's. Bought the car for an NOS 1/4 that had been tacked on the left side, every thing else on the car was gravy. Was a VN build with Cali blue/yellow plates. Have the plates up in the shop. The second '70 BLACK DLX set were out of a '70 Esorit that I drove several hours in the late 90's to buy a bunch of parts from. Have also had 2 pair of original ''70 SANDALWOOD Firebiird buckets which were of the embossed "fake" comfortweave style. Am 100% these were original, there were some sort of black stamped numbers on the back sides of these original covers.

But the covers and door panels in that 70 are repops.

Just found a brown 71 deluxe door panel remnant I meant to throw away years ago.
Will post some close ups soon.
The real stuff is faker than I thought I remembered , but its not as fake as the pieces on this car.

Todd, the Black & Sandalwood colors of '70 Firebird DLX seat covers, at least for some period during the '70 production year, used the embossed "comfort weave". I have original early 2nd Gen upper door panels as well, in '70 Bright Blue, & from a '71 Esprit in BLACK. The '71's are Very nice, I have them noted as the same application as '70 models. Both sets exhibit REAL Comfortweave. Somewhere I nave have the BLACK upper door panels from the '70 Formula, have literally dozens of long flat boxes of original door panels.

Other ORIGINAL DLX Interior '68-71 Pontiac seat cover inserts. Have never ran across anything but REAL comfortweave.
