I've looked into progressive but all that fancy whiz bang technology terrifies me.

Lol, not really but I do like the simplicity of points and carbs and mechanical fans and pumps.

I am of the same thought process. Not interested at all in putting anything car related on my phone. Prefer the simplicity of points, mechanical fans etc..... all our daily are that way and rock solid dependable.
