This is what I run in pontiacs with headers, even with the factory the oil bypass blocked, I have never seen a psi loss from the filtering.

Personally I run a remote filter set up because I have custom built headers on my F-body for additional ground clearance. It is hidden from view under the front fender.
When considering your oil system capacity keep in mind how much oil is in the lines to and from a remote mounted filter. On mine there is about 3/4 quart of oil. .

Filter is on the opposite side as the headers.
