I have had at least a dozen Snap-On screwdrivers repaired or replaced under the lifetime warranty. Especially Phillips head that just wear out and lose their grip. Most of them have been repaired right on site. They have a fixture in the truck that extracts the blade/shaft and pushes a new one in the handle. I have also had some chopped-up handles replaced where the old blade/shaft was inserted in a new handle. I have always been happy with that free service. Same thing with torx/allen bits. Broken piece taken out with a punch and new bits provided for life free. I have never been denied a hand tool free replacement even if the tools were bought used. HOWEVER: This is not the case with their electric, cordless, and hydraulic tools. The warranties are very weak IMO. The warranty is only 1 year and the quality of all that stuff is just average run of the mill. I had a Snap-On engine hoist blow out a piston seal after less than 2 years. No warranty. Dropped an expensive engine and did some minor damage. Had a very expensive Snap-On 3 ton aluminum floor jack start slowly dropping from an internal seal leak. It was 2 years old. No warranty and no service parts other than a complete hydraulic unit replacement for $300.00. Like an idiot, I went ahead and repaired it. Their cordless tools are heavy, extremely expensive, and weak compared to DeWalt or Milwaukee. One year warranty and extremely expensive batteries. So like most things, there are plusses and minuses. For pure mechanical tools and if price is no object, I still like Snap-on. There are good, much lower priced alternatives as mentioned in above posts.
