Anything taller than 3.23 you’re going to be slipping the clutch starting out in first gear a little more than you’d probably like.
Had a 1969 330 hp 400 4-speed Firebird all original drivetrain with the wide ratio Muncie and 3.23 rear end and it was acceptable on clutch slipping in low gear start off but not great. The 1976 T/A 455 cars with the anemic 200 hp 7.6:1 engines all came with wide ratio 4-speeds and 3.23 gears. 3.08 would be the max I’d go with a 455 HO 4-speed.
