After going on vacation and having in general poor weather, I've been poking away at wiring.* Connecting up sensors, wrapping the wiring up, and just trying to make it as nice as I can do.

The most obvious change here from previously are the pigtails are wrapped in black now and I've mounted to power solenoid and two large fuses on the driver's fender.




Previously I had the power solenoid on the passenger side with a 10 gauge wire coming from the alternator with a 75 amp MAXI fuse, which went over to a local fuse panel then out to accessories. The 10 gauge wire showed some signs of being cooked* Now I have 6 gauge wire from the starter post (connected to the battery) to the alternator and then up to the power solenoid and out to two large fuses.* I wanted 75 and 100 amp fuses, so need to swap the rear fuse. The frontmost fuse is for the radiator fan, electric water pump, and any always powered accessory in the stock fuse panel. When I convert the headlights to local relays, they'll get their power from this fuse as well.* High load stuff. The rearmost fuse is the EFI and chassis power fuse blocks.* Its a 140 amp alternator, and of course battery power.*





Since the weather has been poor I've been working on the dash. I've removed the mechanical speedometer from the cluster and ran the digital speedo wires through the backside now. Since the blinker and high beam indicator lights are removed I've added three lights between the pods to replace them.* I've also finalized mounting a touch screen in the dash.*

These wires run to a connector, and the other side of the connector I'll tie into the dash harness wires.*


For the touchscreen, I've moved from a 7" screen to a 5" that fits the area much better. Its a tad short on height, but with a minor amount of trimming it fit between the existing mounting points. For mock up it just has the screw heads holding the screen in place, but I plan on making some ABS plastic clamps to really hold it down and take up the ~1/8" gap on height. Its a fresh software install so I need to create some new custom digital gauge/indicator layouts.**
