Dang! And that is on a 10 year old restoration.
Mine will be ready for paint by next weekend, or maybe the weekend after, but I'm just not happy with the color matches I've gotten so far. I can't quite get the OO right, or the sandalwood interior colors right either. I have some good paint on the bottom side of the trunk lid im matching to. Starting to get frustrating. Everything is pretty straight now, and I'm happy with my panel alignment and gaps though. It's all apart and in final primer at the moment. I have one quarter, and the roof sanded to 400 grit. I'm going to finish sanding the rest of the car to 400 grit, then put it back together to do a final fit check. Then blow it apart and wet sand with 800 grit. Ok if I'm going to get 165k for mine, i better get to it! Worked on trying to match the dark sandlewood AGAIN today. I think this is as close as I'm gonna get. This is attempt number 6 I believe.

Next up is tying to nail down the orbit. The furthest left is the closest so far, but even it is a bit muted and a little light compared to the paint on the bottom of the trunk lid.

Is there any green in that sandalwood formula ?
Looks like it needs 2 or 3 drops of green and another drop or two of black. Far left OO sample looks pretty good. |

I'm having trouble too, because even on the car none of the colors seem to be the same. That paint in the pic was from under the dash pad so I figure it was the least exposed to sunlight. In person the left OO sample is a little yellow compared to the trunk lid. Just need to fine tune it a bit more. |

ouch
That would be a crazy choice if true. OO with Black is def #1 cash combo. The rarity of AC 4spd with that combo probably was another boost too. Sandal will do good , but not as good as black interior. Saddle or brown interior would start getting funky. The Ram4 4spd OO JVert has Saddle interior ,,,, and a Gold top. |
