As a general rule, cars in Australia don't rust. Much..... Well, if you live by the sea or if you live in a wet damp area they will rust but if the car is in a city, plenty of sun, not a lot of rain, they do OK. I live in a dry area so no issues for me.
NO roads ever get salted here. At all. Simply because we only have a very small area where it snows and that's only for a very small window of time compared to many other places in the world. The snow fall is in the same mountaineous areas where we get snow melt running into our dams and water supply so they don't salt or use any chemicals which might impede on the quality of our water.
