I have a 1966 2+2 convertible. Has anyone used the M&H 40146 Power Seat and Seat Relay adapter on a convertible top switch? Is it a plug and play installation or do you have to cut wires and add plug ends to install? My switch has a plug for the up and down wire, but the power wire goes all the way to the block on the firewall.
Secondly, Is the Ames part PM239TD relay the same as the M&H 4.146? Lastly, does anyone know if anyone sells the block that is mounted on the firewall? |

M&H 40146 can work for the top switch but isn’t fully plug-and-play — some wiring mods may be needed. Ames PM239TD is similar, just check connector style. Firewall block isn’t reproduced; try eBay or Pontiac salvage yards.

I used 2 Ford starter relays for the top. One for the up and one for down. You do need to cut the wiring coming from the switch. Each time the top is activated, you hear a distinctive click from the relay, but you will never have to worry about the switch anymore!
