I think the paint on all the cars is going to keep prices lower.
The '73 Formula SD, I don't like the colors at all.
The White '73 TA SD, low mileage, but tail decal looks like separate letters. Should still bring over 100K.
The Red '73 TA SD, will be close to estimate.
The Blue '74 TA SD I like as well and may bring 80K, but bidders really don't like the newer body style.
The White '74 TA SD should bring upper estimate.

I took some closer looks at the them.
Most have numerous drawbacks except The white 73 and Florentine Formula.

I like the Formula colors , I tried to buy a 455RA Auto loaded car in the late 80s or early 90s in same combo.
Would like this one better with AC and rear spoiler, but...

The Red 73 car has awful paint and the body moldings.
Might as well restore that one. Lots of things need upticking.
The BaT Red 73 car would be a better buy - well, just by what it bid to (which didn't buy it).

The Blue 74 has had interior mods.
Side panels should be white like the seats , unless it all should be blue complete.
Then it has black carpet, and No AC
Just needs some mild front end nose recoloring.

My friends fresh frame off #s 74 Auto AC only went to 70k at Arizona Mecum.
These 74s with no reserve might go affordably priced.

The yellow 73 Formula was a 2 window sticker car.
Great car but the color package isn't my choice at all.

I'd pick the White 73 TA , then the Florentine Formula

Wow , the place is located in Ontario Canada. Old Brock Musclecars.
Friend of mine in Ontario has been on the hunt for a SD
And there were 7 of them right under his nose.

He wants a clean survivor preferably.
That White 73 would have fit him to a T

And he needs it to be within Canada due to the dollar exchange rate.
Wish he could have caught wind of those cars before the Mecum listing.

Turns out my friend knew about them , and has seen most of them in person - but not all of them.

Reportedly the owner was the kind of guy who always wanted more than actual value on anything he would sell.
So it's being pondered that he may have passed away.

72 Blue 4spd is said to be pretty good #s car (previously not for sale)
But can see in the pictures both fenders and spoiler ends are later model.
Likely other things will be too.

The Red 74 purported 18k miles , he didn't get to see it.

Blue 74 is said to be kind of junky. (he actually said PoS ?)
The other two 74s ho-hum driver types

White 73 TA scored 975 of 1000 at MCACN and is all that.
6 years ago he wanted 130k USD for it. (seems reasonably fair to me)
120k USD for Florentine Formula (also seems somewhat fair)
His problem with the White car was the Canadian Dollar conversion at the time.
Along with 13% sales tax whatever fee ,,,,, would have put him close to 200k Canadian on it.
Brock was pricing cars in USD

He did not see the Yellow 73 Formula 455
The auction estimate seems about ridiculous to me on that car.

My friend in TX sold his 74 SD yesterday .

Rock solid TX native car , completely #s front to back.(honest #s , not speculated)
Fresh frame off
Blue with Buckskin Deluxe , Auto AC etc....
Sold at right under 90
It only went to 70 at Houston Mecum ( damn ? )

These no reserve 74s will probably bid decent by speculators and sight unseen participants.
More guys can afford lesser priced cars.

I don't recall when or how I came across the Old Brock website, but it was a long time ago (maybe ten+ years?) I check the site periodically and I know a lot of the cars listed there have been advertised for quite some time.

They don't list prices, but I called on the Florentine Formula about five years ago (probably longer) and they quoted me 99K for the car. About a year ago a friend was looking for an SD car so I called again and they quoted me 135K. I did not clarify if that was Canadian or US.

FYI, I think its the came car on both the Old Brock website and the Mecum Auction site, but on the Mecum site it states the car was delivered to Turnpike Pontiac in Westport CT, while the Old Brock website states that car was delivered to Pat Clark Pontiac in Las Vegas, NV.

Definitely going to be interesting to see what these are going to bid at with most of them going NR. I looked at them and all appear as “Drivers” I guess you would call it? Some rust issues on one of the 73’s. Most of them from “The Medeiros Collection”.

I think the 69 TA RamIV 4spd got passed over by guys waiting to spend on these Early SD cars.
It should have been 250+ and only "went" to 180k
If it was truly Concours.

The White MCACN 73 and SD Formula should do pretty good.

Biggest surprise so far has been the White 64 GTO driver with 67 engine @ 101k ?

I had the White 73 pegged at 150 + juice
Florentine Formula at 110 + juice
Red 73 at 65-70 + juice
Got all of those wrong.

All the 74s did better than I thought they would.
So i got all those wrong too.

Yellow 73 Formula 455 brought half of it's estimate.
But i got it right at 50'ish

Blue 72 I didn't even try on it , no idea what type of NOM engine it had.

Another freaky one was
70 LS6 4spd ElCamino was estimated at around 200k
It stopped at 100k ?

Some of the results did surprised me, SD Formula I thought it would be $115-125K, the red 73 TA for $55K, but it needed a lot of work. those 74s going for 50k plus were a surprise, but, from people there, they all needed work also,. so it comes down to which ones you like the most as far as color combos/options. well bought in my opinion, we've seen complete project cars with tons of rust issues and some missing SD parts going for 40k plus. Prices reflect what the cars were for the bidders present.
Ramblings that the market is on a downturn, SD prices have reached their peak, lol, and, we are back to a buyers market??, have already begun..

Greetings everyone. It's been a couple years since I've been on PY.
My '73 Brewster SD automatic (Brewster's old car) is shifting erratically. At half-3/4 throttle It will down shift into 1st at all speeds up to 50mph. Won't shift into 2nd until yellow lining then right into 3rd. Holding 1st too long, not enough into 2nd, and if I depress the throttle while in 2nd even at 50mph, it will down shift back into 1st. Is this a simple kick down switch adjustment? Modulator? Anyone else experience this? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
