The offset shafts are a viable, easier solution.
The issue is that the frame has sagged over the years with the heavy engine weighing down on it. Another more complex solution is to have the frame bent back into its original shape and dimensions at a frame shop. This solution really only makes sense to do if you are doing a full body-off restoration though when you can more easily work with the bare frame.
