Still doesn't jive right.
Engine and Trans get stamped by the same person with the same gang stamp on the assembly line.

Hard to make sense out of one stamp being 29N and one being 20N from same guy using the same gang stamp.
The Trans stamp looks more like the offender in this case.

I just picked up a 71 Trans Am with the original WC 455 HO. The last digit should be a 1 and its a 0.

Also, the transmission matches the block.

Jack, I know you probably got your answer on Facebook. But I'll add it here too. It is very possible to have partial VIN stamp to be off one digit as long at it's the same on both pieces.

Jack are you the same fellow that bought a 71 Lemans 455HO new , and still owns it ?
