Can anyone ID this crank?
Friend got what appears to be an aftermarket crank in a parts haul.
I think it has 3" mains. Markings on it look to be: LY0503 T4554004210-F22280 Anyone know what brand it is? It does have serrations too. Thanks. Last edited by 65madgoat; 07-04-2025 at 04:03 PM. |

Don't know the brand.
My guess based on the numbers is 4.21" stroke with 2.25" rod journals and 3" main journals.

Need a pic of the main oil feed holes, then I can probably identify it. If it has a giant divot going across the main feed holes, it is an Eagle crank. That's their identifier. If if looks more like a stock PMD crank, but with chamferred holes, it may be a Scat. Each crank has a specific look to them.

Really need more pictures. It looks like it's cast, from what's shown. It's 3.00 main, 4.21 stroke and most likely Pontiac rod journal as mentioned previously.

Those numbers look similar to what I remember Star Galaxy being. I think they are now RPM International. Butler sold them.

Thanks for the pic. That looks like an Eagle crank to me. It has the giant eyebrow divot around the main oil feed. Eagle also uses serrations on the main seal area like that that needs to be polished if using a rubber or Viton rubber seal. I am not aware of other brands using a main oil feed that looks like that.

Thanks all. I recall those Star Galaxy cranks on ebay. So figured it could possibly be one of those or Eagle of course.
Appreciate the replies! Appears to be an Eagle Crank 4.21 stroke with 3" mains to use stock Pontiac rods. |
