they will not mesh well with todays fuels, and can only assume they are dry rottedby now.

these guys make kits to rebuild them with new internals.

My bird has an AC pump on it that I installed back in 98 or 99 when you could still buy them. I've logged over 100k miles on it since then and it's still kickin'. Nothing but 10 percent ethanol mixed pump gas.

I run a repop AC pump on the 69 Z and that one has over 60,000 miles on it, same gas, still flawless.
