My father use to say,'you are only going to do it once'. Mine is 30 x60 with 10ft ceilings. Lifts were not popular when I built it. Wish I had the built higher ceiling. Mine is concrete block up 48" then 2x6 studs. Then I built a 2nd floor, with Gambrel roof. For my trains. I planned on using heated floor. I had the designs for the PET tubing from Zurn, insulation in floor etc. Then I talked to guys who had it some were positive. Some said just use gas
forced air. So I changed. Floor will be 5 " thick minimum4000 psi with fiber. I have steel rods that I'm not going to use. I've done all the building myself. Oh the upstairs floor is 2x4 30 ft trusses on 16" centers 24 " high. No spongeeness.

See if there is cheap and nice for a shop build.

Default Ready for sheetmetal

Finished the last of the welding on the shop on Thursday. Glad that's over. Seeing welded metal in my dreams. Only have to cut the roof Perlin's to length and add the L-channel.
Will start to add the wainscotting and metal next week.

Thumbs up

Looking good. Looks like you are set up for more than one rollup door. At times I wish I had another door, but I make do with just the one.

Weather is getting better, so now you can REALLY get to work. lol

Ogre,
I think I may have gone too far with 4 doors. But I will probably be glad I have them due to the way my shop faces. Wish I could have put the gable end toward the street. I would have only needed two.
The price is a little more than I realized.
overhead doors have gotten expensive.
Yes, the weather is nice for this time of year. Wish it would quit raining on Saturdays. Typical Texas.
Started the sheet metal this week.
Maybe have it dried in in a couple of weeks.

Default Shop build

Awesome job so far, congrats. I'm starting my build in a few weeks at my place in Pecan Gap, Tx and can't wait, had the slab poured in October. I agree that the doors got out of bounds, I went with the cheaper roll-ups over the sectional ones.

Thanks for the kind words.
We had the same plan at the same time. Mine was poured in Oct.
Please post up some pics of your progress.
I think everyone would like to see what you are building.
We may get some ideas from what you are doing.
