Both of my GrandFather's , and one of their brothers enlisted immediately afterwards.
They said pretty much every able bodied man in the age range did that across the whole nation. Even many who were too young , lied to get in. Unmatched patriotism and blood thirst for revenge. uncle jack didn't make it back . ![]() Married his sweetheart before he sailed off and had a honeymoon. 9 months later she gave birth to his son , Jack was shot down in a bomber shortly afterwards. Never got to hold his son. War is hell. Thank God we prevailed. |
