Can someone tell me the part number for the stock rear speaker on a 1978 Transam? I know it was an AC Delco. Also, did the one rear speaker come with one of those insulated covers? I will look on eBay once I have the correct part number. Thanks, John

Ok, about the only item that is not stock on my Y88 is the aftermarket speakers installed years ago, like most did change as the car only had one speaker in the rear. I purchased some used factory metal speaker grills which I will paint. I was hoping someone could pull that jute box off and get a number for me from their original TA. Thanks, John

It’s gotta have the bracket on for the box though. And you need the retainer.

I wouldn't bother with an original speaker. They will not sound good as most people replaced them anyway. I added a second speaker into my 1976 because I want to have better than stock sound. Mine is a plain Jane Firebird but I want to enjoy it. The original was not very good sounding. I went with Retro Sound for my radio and speakers. I have the 2, 4" round speakers together in the front center speaker location. I would be surprised if an original speaker would function very well after this amount of time. My car will be 50 this coming year.
