^^^ your VWs look amazing. my wife's from Rio .. I'm blown down every time I visit. they take their old VWs very serious down there ^^^

my motor went in very late last season so I never really got to take care of some pretty bedrock issues I was having till these past couple of weeks:
- I was losing <all> power randomly .. and very often in the middle of traffic. ha. turned out to be the main hot connector on the cabin side of bulkhead connector wasnt locked into block. it would push out.
- pertronix was not getting anywhere near enough Vs at "start" .. was having some really spectacular startup's. setup w/ relay now so getting fully battery Vs at run/start.
night and day difference: car's starting easily, even in the cold and will snap your neck through the rpm's ; )
- wasnt getting more than 12.5v at alternator/battery ... new regulator today took care of that and battery's getting charged properly now.

looking forward to digging into the carb and timing once we get some warm days!
