Ethanol is a step up from gas, but methanol is a lot better and has more power too. If you're buying/adapting stuff for the E85 not much more work to make it methanol.
With the right setup it will make more power.
But you can't think like it is gasoline.


John knows. Methanol will pick your car up over the race gas. It’s makes a ton more torque. If I were you I would go with a dominator set up for alcohol over a 4150 style carb. As far as the transbrake picking the car up…. If your converter is set up right you won’t gain much of anything with a transbrake. It’s more fun but not necessarily faster. We have a car that runs E-85 and it did pick it up a little bit and was cheaper than race gas while running cooler.
